We started Friday off with a BBQ. I decided to put our tent up in the backyard and "pretend camp" with Clark. We needed to make sure the tent was in good shape for the upcoming summer, and we wanted to see what his reaction would be. Needless to say, it was a GREAT reaction! He loved it! We had s'mores cooked in a fire pit, and then gave him a flashlight to play with. He is going to love going camping! He was so dirty after it all, and it was only in the backyard!
On Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market, went on a bike ride, and then cooked like crazy! I have been trying to perfect some cupcake recipes for an upcoming wedding I am doing, so I dedicated myself to that.
Sunday, we went to Ryan Reeves (Dave's cousin) farewell in Riverside and I brought the test cupcakes! :) We spent the day up there, going to church and then enjoying dinner at the mission home. It is very weird to think that the Reeves won't be living there in just a short month! We've had so much fun, we are sad to see them leave. It was fun to have one last event with them before they head back up to Utah.
On Monday, we went to our ward breakfast. The Elder's Quorum was in charge so David went at 6 AM to help out, and we joined him at 8. I apologize for having ZERO pictures of this event, but lets be honest I was too busy blabbing to my ward friends to remember to take any. Clark enjoyed himself playing at the park, while David and I socialized. It was a great ward party.
We then came home, David made incredible brownies, and went to our in laws ward swim party. We had lunch there, David and Clark swam, and we all played at another park within the party. It was a very busy day. Clark was in heaven. He got to play with friends, swim, and go to two parks. If that wasn't enough, we came home and had yummy kabobs on the BBQ. I wanted to make something festive, so I went for Jigglers. I had never made them before, but they turned out well. Clark kept wanting more "cake" aka Jigglers and I was happy to oblige him. If that wasn't enough, he found his second love, corn on the cob buttered to perfection. It was a GREAT holiday!
Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all who serve and have served this wonderful country. The price of freedom isn't free, and I applaud those who have made this country what it is today!
