Issues, issues

Since this is our family's online journal, I probably need to post this, even though its not very positive and hopefully I'll learn something from this for the next children that I have.  Clark has been an awesome sleeper since he was 3 months old, however things have changed...
Since we have moved,he has been having terrible sleeping issues.  The first couple of weeks, he would cry throughout the night, then finally that stopped (Yippeee, it reminded me of newborn days!).  Then the next day he refused to take a nap, for 3 hours I kept putting him back in bed, and finally, he slept. The few days after that, I didn't put him down for a nap, but he always ended up being conked out by 3.  So I started making 3 his nap time.  Then came the next few days of waking up in the middle of the night wandering around the house and finding him the next morning in random places.   Nowadays, he is waking up super early even though we've been putting him down almost at our bedtime, and most of the time in the mornings I don't know he is up, because he wanders into Grandma's room. Unfortunately, today he wandered way too early (about 4 something in the AM)  and Grandma needed to work.  So basically, this is the last straw!  DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY GOOD ADVICE FOR ME??  I'm begging you!
This is where I found him while writing this, yep, he snuck out of his room and here he is outside grandma & grandpa's room, the cat is taking a nap right beside him... Sheesh!

Hey Rolene! We have been having the EXACT same problems with Chloe. It scares me to death because she could wake up and walk outside to the insanely busy street we live on. I have started locking her door at night, however she just figured out how to unlock it. My next move is to get one of those door knob plastic covers so she can't turn the door knob anymore. We recently had a really rough night where Chloe woke up at 2am and would go back to bed until about 5am!! And she has been horrible about taking her naps as well. Unless she has a really eventful day outside she just simply does not get tired. I am trying to just go with the flow, but i will be checking this post again to see what others come up with. Thanks for posting!

Also, Chloe did not handle our move very well last year. I am sure he is also trying to transition. When we moved to Utah last summer I had to get up with Chloe sometimes at night and just kind of hold her fir a few minutes so she could calm down from waking up at night. When he transitions to the move I m sure the phase will end as well.

Read this post on one of my friends blogs. I haven't tried it but she swears by it: http://curtandhollysmith.blogspot.com/2011/04/product-endorsement-good-nite-lite.html

Anytime my kids are having sleep problems I turn to "Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child" ... it's my sleep bible. I even keep it on my nightstand next to my scriptures and refer to it often. Haha. Good luck!

Hahaha...Natalie I just checked out that blog you posted, and she referred to one of Aaron's favorite sites! ThinkGeek.com so I guess we are going to buy it! :) Thanks for the tip!

We have always used the kid-proof door knob lock on Jayden's room. He just calls for us in the morning when he gets up. There will definitely be some adjustment time because of the move, but I am a strong believer that kids do well with a general sleep/eat schedule. So just keep trying!
