Visiting Teaching Conference

This last weekend was our Visiting Teaching Conference. I am happy that it is over and that I won't have to do it again for another year, that is for sure! It took a lot of time away from other things, and unfortunately didn't pay off as much as I had hoped! Hopefully, at least one sister got something out of it! We had a beautiful musical number (His Hands) and a wonderful quilting metaphor to unite us as sisters in our Relief Society. Unfortunately, time ran out and most of the program wasn't used, which was very sad. I have made many programs in my life (20 or so?) and this one through me for a loop! I guess Heavenly Father was trying to keep me on my toes! I made a video of sisters in our ward discussing what a good visiting teacher was, and it was beautiful! Fortunately for me, after the program I forgot to retrieve it and it fell into the hands of the RS presidency, who watched it and will show it this month as a VT reminder, so at least some of my efforts weren't forgotten, as well as the sweet sisters who were videotaped!
It just goes to show that sometimes things don't work out for the best, but they always have some purpose or lesson learned. The lesson I learned was to be more assertive and make my concerns heard instead of brushing them aside. Next time, I won't make the same mistake! If you'd like to see the video to get some ideas for your next activity, feel free to let me know, however, I didn't want to post it on my blog, I feel its too personal for some of the sisters! Until next time, be well! :)

What matters most though is that you put hard work and effort into the planning, and I am sure the Lord was very pleased with your efforts!

I'm sure it was great. I'm sorry all of your hard work wasn't used.

Sounds like a lot of work!
I would love to see it but don't actually have any calling in the RS (except vt of course). So I guess I will wait until I can use the idea. Way to go.
